We travel in different areas and plan the tours so that they meet your needs. Below are some area descriptions.
A huge ecosystem, bordering Tanzania (Serengeti). Here you can experience the great migration of animals from June to end of September - a unique spectacle and also known as the eighth wonder of the world. In search of food, countless zebras, wildebeests and antelopes migrate across the plains. And where there are wildebeests and zebras, lions, hyenas and other predators make it the best experience through the hunting on the plain nature.
Also here you meet the Maasai. The area is flat and has large steppes as well as swampy areas. Amboseli is known for its large herds of elephants and its biodiversity. Travelling through the park, you see the mighty Kilimanjaro as a wonderful setting in the background.
The northern park is home to the “net giraffe” and the Grevy zebra, which are only found in this part of Africa. The park also became famous through the movie "Born Free" about the lioness Elsa.
The area west of Mount Kenya has a very pleasant climate and has several private Conservancies. Here you can undertake various one-day tours from a central place. For example to the small, but pretty Park Solio Ranch, where you can observe many white rhinos or to Ol Pejeta, where much is done for the wild life protection. The Aberdares are also easily accessible. At an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level, malaria hardly occurs at all.
The northern and rather dry park is also known for its elephants.Of course, for the love of the wild, this is the only park where you can encounter the special five; Beisa Oryx,Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Grevy's Zebra and Gerenuk. Here you can meet the Samburu tribe of the same name.
The Tsavo area is one of the largest parks, but only part of it is open to visitors. The Tsavo is characterised by the red earth, volcanic landscapes and the home of many animal species. Because of the earth, the red elephants are at home here. The Tsavo East is easy to reach from the coast. As it is lower than the Maasai Mara or Laikipia plateaus. With it's closeness to the coastal region, it normally gets warm and hot here.
Where there is water, hippos and birds of all kinds are at home. An Eldorado for bird lovers.
Meet the Kingfisher, the proud osprey, flamingos, the great white pelican and many other birds.
The huge forest area has up to 3900 meter high mountains and offers a fascinating fauna and flora. This park has hardly any tourists and is an insider tip. With a bit of luck you will discover hyenas, forest pigs, leopards or elephants and of course countless birds in the dense vegetation. Aberdares also offers guided hikes to the peaks or to waterfalls.
Mount Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa and is popular with climbers. Of course you can also hike here. On a guided tour of several days you will experience different vegetation on the ascent. Lentim Safari does not offer any such tours itself. We are happy to assist you and organise your Mount Kenya climb through our partners.
The extinct volcano Longonot can be climbed and a hike of about four hours on the crater rim is possible. Starting point is Lake Naivasha.
